Description |
Clay mould for the production of statuettes of falcon Horus, dating to the period of the 26th dynasty. Moulds are
exceedingly rare, as they can be found only in the original ancient workshops, were they would have been used to
make the high number of statuettes needed for cult purposes, or to fill the space around a sarcophagus in the burial
chamber. Egyptian moulds for the production feature in some of the most important collection of Egyptian
antiquities in the world, including the Museum of Cairo and the Egyptian Museum of Turin. A positive is provided
along with the purchase of a mould.
