This beautifully carved light green jade pendant represents a figure-celt in a balanced symmetrical form. The cool green of the jade and the perfect symmetry are visually and emotionally soothing. Its calm and timeless presence and power appeal to our senses as it did to people of Ancient Mesoamerica. Moreover the soothing essence of the graceful jade pendant motivates us to touch it, and to desire to keep it close to our body. Such precious jade amulet not only symbolized virility but it also represented rank and authority of chieftains or shamans who wore this prized pendant. Because such pendants were considered as possessing power chieftains in ceremonies concerning agriculture and prosperity also often wore them. The jade pendant was kept close to chieftain or shaman's body, perhaps to feel its vibrant power. Even across the obstacles of time and culture, the finely carved jade amulet's grace, power and magic are undeniably evident today. - (PF.3003)
